In the
90s Heavyweight Boxer Razor Ruddock started
using a punch that had never been seen before.
Ruddock would suddenly drop his gloves in
apparent breach of the cardinal |
rule of boxing,
never drop your hands. Emboldened by the opening
his opponent would often lean forward in
anticipation of doing some damage. Ruddock
meanwhile, would |

leaning backwards pulling his
opponent forward. But as his opponent prepared
to punch, Ruddock was suddenly coming around
with circular left hook that he'd been preparing
from the very start. The blow would arrive at
the end of a carefully disguised

like thunder, frequently knocking out the
opponent in an instant. The punch became known
as "The Smash" as it would seemingly come out of
nowhere and materialize into an oncoming
wall. |
